Asal Sharif is an Iranian-Belgian writer and director. She received her Ph.D. in Electromechanical Engineering from Ghent University in Belgium. She directed her debut short film, The Wind is Blowing in the Alley, in Tehran. In her first short film, she explores the possibilities of expressing themes related to women’s issues through film language.
