The hunter

شکارچی

DIRECTED BY: Rafi Pitts

Having been released from prison only recently, Ali works around the clock to provide for his family amidst the sensations of the upcoming election and promises of political change. Demonstrations and social unrest seem to do Ali no harm until one tragic day when he is informed that his wife and young daughter had been killed by the police in crossfire between the police and protesters at a political rally.
Horror, anger and rage devour Ali who roams around the city like a walking time bomb, witnessing the city and its citizens on the edge of a political meltdown. It is then that he decides to take the law into his own hands and to punish the Iranian police with all he has left to him: his gun.
Written and directed by one of the most acclaimed voices of Iranian cinema outside the country, The Hunter gets right under your skin, blurring the lines between the hunter and the prey as you wait for its grim, taciturn protagonist to detonate.
