At the verge of turning forty, a woman who had been adopted when she was only an infant from Iran by a Dutch couple travels back to her motherland for the first time to look for her biological parents after four decades.
A very touching and intimate journey through Iran and to the past, Finding Farideh is a close and tender study of the meaning of home, family, identity and longing in today’s world.

Born in 1980, Azadeh Mousavi received her bachelor’s degree in directing from the Cinema-Theatre Faculty of the Tehran University of Art and started working as an assistant director and script advisor for several short and long feature and documentary films. She has directed several short films and documentaries to date. Finding Farideh is her latest feature length documentary.
Kourosh Ataee received his bachelor’s degree in directing from the Cinema-Theatre Faculty of the Tehran University of Art and at the moment, he is a student of master’s in dramatic literature.
He has directed several shorts and documentaries and has also worked as an assistant director and script advisor in several short and long features and TV series. Finding Farideh is Kourosh’s latest work in collaboration with Azadeh Mousavi.
