At the age of 85, Touran Mirhadi is a fountain of energy and hope. For many decades and through drastic changes in the Iranian regime, she has been building the foundations of an educational system for children that is in total contrast with the common practice.

This is a woman of ceaseless faith in humanity; a cultural activist who has endured many personal losses and tragedies. Her educational heritage is enormous. Her life story is unforgettable.

An intimate and heart-warming portrait by two of the most acclaimed filmmakers of Iranian cinema, Touran Khanom is a magically inspiring journey with one of the most important figures of Iranian contemporary history.
