Kabul, City in the Wind

کابل شهری در باد

DIRECTED BY: Aboozar Amini

A shadow of death hangs over Kabul as a middle-aged man steers his rickety bus through the chaos of the city, trying to come to peace with himself.

Amid the constant threat of further bloodshed, two young brothers are prematurely thrown into the world of adulthood and its grim reality.

The most acclaimed documentary from Afghanistan to date, this is a mesmerizing and heartfelt piece about the dreams and hopes of those who rarely find themselves at the center of anyone’s attention.

Reminiscent of some of the great works of Iranian new wave, this is a work of poetry and magic, showing us the way to the hearts of its atypical protagonists with ease and confidence.
