Fireworks Wednesday

چهارشنبه سوری

DIRECTED BY: Asghar Farhadi

When a young maid is hired to take care of an upper middle class residence, she finds herself in the middle of a hysterical dispute between the enraged couple who have employed her; a suspicious wife, her denying husband, and their desperate kid in the midst of emotional explosions that worsen their fragile marriage every minute.

As the maid tries to improve the situation, she finds herself a part of the blind web of secrets that lie beneath the lives of her employers.

One of the most emotionally charged works of Iranian cinema to date, this is a masterstroke by Asghar Farhadi, the singular figure behind A Separation (2012), The Past (2013) and The Salesman (2017).
