FIREFLIES

کرم های شب تاب

DIRECTED BY: Bani Khoshnoudi

Lost in a port town in Mexico, a young Iranian refugee tries to find his way to a better place as he spends his days doing tough labour to survive.

He keeps his past to himself; a past that is visible through the whipping traces on his back. As he hopelessly lingers onto the thoughts of his boyfriend in Tehran, two encounters grant him his wish for change, if not in the way he imagined.

Fireflies is a compelling and touching film from a rising talent within the global diaspora of Iranian cinema, about the harrowing consequences of exile, and the perpetual feeling of otherness.
